What an enjoyable wedding I shot this past weekend! My couple was Diana and Michael, both students at Duke University. Diana (pronounced Dee AH na) is from Italy and is absolutely one of the most smiley people I have ever shot. Together they are relaxed and affectionate and basically made my job really easy!
The ceremony and reception were at Het Landhuis outside of Pittsboro, NC, which was a new venue for me. It’s an old farm that’s been updated as a wedding venue. Here’s the barn where the reception was:
And Diana’s dress hanging in the cabin. She had it made back in Italy and it was simply gorgeous:
The ladies getting ready upstairs:
Is it mean that I find it amusing how challenging guys always find it to deal with boutonnieres, etc? I did help them after I finished taking pictures of it…. 🙂
Diana’s mother and cousin helped her into the dress:

I loved the detail in the bouquets:
The ceremony was outside under a giant pecan tree. Diana had just a bit of trouble getting Michael’s ring on:
Het Landhuis puts a memorial brick for each couple. Cool idea!
There’s that smile I was talking about:
This shot was totally candid. Too cute, aren’t they?
The reception was upstairs in the barn:

The dancing was downstairs. Michael and Diana went down before their guests, and while they were waiting, began to dance. Who needs music when you have love?
A few minutes later during the “official” first dance:
And some reception fun:
